Barbara Napangarti Reid
Born: 1964 Location: Tjukurla WA Language: Ngaanyatjarra
Born at Papaya near Tjukurla in Western Australia, Barbara commenced painting in 1987 for the Centre for Aboriginal Artists. She is a Ngaanyatjarra women working in an individualistic style depicting the country of Tjukurla in the Gibson Desert, Western Australia. Barbara's work is characterised by the depiction of puli - rock formations, and tuli - sand hills, those features that are so much a part of the land form from which she comes.
